An agent who reads your tape, tells you the truth about it, and gets you into the right rooms.

MAM Associates represents actors, writers, directors, producers, and screen crew across the UK and international markets. Every application is read by a working agent. Every reply is signed by a person. No filters, no auto-responses, no silent pile.

First time here? Here is how we work.

Pick your path

Three audiences. One door each.

MAM represents three groups, and each one gets its own page, its own checklist, and its own form. Pick yours, and you will not have to wade through anything written for somebody else.

Hiring talent? Production briefs and casting enquiries belong on the Hire page. It has its own checklist and its own reply window.

Founded by Owen A. Smith after fifteen years on set. Independent by choice, selective by design, and a division of the MovieLux Media Group.

“MAM read the brief properly and sent us a short, specific shortlist. Not a long one to wade through. The actor we cast was on it.”

“Owen and the team treat representation as judgement, not admin. My materials are sharper, the meetings I am in are the right ones, and when the answer is no it comes with a reason.”

Roster client · Actor Television · London [placeholder quote]

“They understand the literary side, not just performance. The packaging notes changed how the project was received in the room.”

How it works

Four steps from first contact to representation.

No mystery about what happens next. Here is the path from the first email to a signed agreement, so you can plan around it.

  1. 01

    Apply or enquire.

Use the application form if you want representation. Use the contact page if you are casting or crewing a job. Short and specific beats long and generic, every time.

  2. 02

    We read it personally.

Every application and every enquiry is read by the team. No filter, no intern, no auto-reply. We weigh it against the roster, the work we already know about, and the shape of the agency right now.

  3. 03

    Materials & meeting.

If there is a clear fit, we come back to you with a focused conversation. Talent get a real materials review. Productions get a brief-led shortlist of the right names, not the long ones.

  4. 04

    Decision & next steps.

You get a considered yes, no, or not yet, and the reasons behind it. When it is a yes, the work of representation, packaging, or supplying talent starts the same week.

The team

Run by people with real credits and on-set judgement.

An agent who has never been on a set reads a showreel differently than one who has. The people who lead MAM have produced, shot, directed, and performed. That experience sits behind every call the agency makes on your behalf.

Owen A. Smith, Founding Partner
Founding Partner · Principal Agent · Cinematographer · Producer

Owen A. Smith

Fifteen-plus years in screen production with over 150 credits across feature film, television, documentary, commercials, and branded work.

Before the agency, Owen shot, produced, directed, and wrote across drama, documentary, sport, and commercial work. He came into the industry through Graphic Design at Epsom School of Art & Design (now University for the Creative Arts) and the London advertising studio Adam B Colour Services. On campaigns for Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi, and McCann Erickson. A Royal Air Force College Cranwell graduate with a Queen’s Commission, he served six years as a Flight Lieutenant in command of 70 personnel. That discipline, and a working cinematographer’s instinct for what reads on camera, shapes how he represents talent today.

Jane Jackson, Partner
Partner · Acting & Talent Agent · Actress · Producer

Jane Jackson

Seven years in film, six in representation. A performer’s view of how acting careers actually get built.

Trained as an actress on the Spotlight-accredited method acting course at the Brian Timoney Method Acting Studio in London. Jane came to representation through her own work on set. Which means every casting conversation, every self-tape note, and every long-arc career plan runs through someone who has stood on the other side of the camera.

Linzy Attenborough, Creative Partner
Creative Partner · Award-winning Producer & Filmmaker

Linzy Attenborough

Two decades producing across Bollywood features, British independent cinema, commercials, television, and music video.

Trained as an actor at UK drama schools before moving into production. Founded Thought Juice Films in 2005, beginning with corporate work and expanding into music videos, commercials, and television. Served as 1st AD on twelve features including On The Line and Exodus, managed the Disney · Star Wars · Lucasfilm UK toy advertising campaign, and was Production Manager on Chandu Champion. Producer on the micro-budget features Wolf Garden and The Alice Paradox. Her award-winning short films stream on Amazon Prime.

Paul Jeffery, Assistant Agent
Assistant Agent · Actor · Writer · Director (stage: Mark Paul Denham)

Paul Jeffery

A professional actor since thirteen. A working writer-director with multiple best-director, best-feature, and best-script wins.

East London, classically trained at Academy Drama School with screen acting under Director Mark Normandy, plus Technical Theatre at Hoxton Hall (sound, lighting, stage management). Continued at Raindance in directing, directing actors, and film & TV producing. Recent on-camera credits include El Cucuy, Pixi Dust, Voyeur, Escape, the lead in Caught In-Between, and Reza in the Sky Max pilot Football Fantasy.

Two doors. Pick yours.
