About

An agent for actors, literary talent, and crew who want the phone to ring.

Started in 2018 with a handful of actors and one rule: only represent people we can actually serve. MAM, short for MovieLux Artist Management & Associates, is now a full-service London talent agency working across film and television, with acting, literary, and crew representation across the UK and international markets. It is a division of the MovieLux Media Group. The rule has not changed.

The agency

Decades of screen experience, pointed at one question: how do we move this career forward?

Every partner at this table has worked on a set. We have stood in production offices, in casting rooms, in edits, and behind cameras. That is the lens we bring to representation, whether you are an actor reading sides at six in the morning, a writer on a third draft, or a director trying to get a slate financed.

Film and television are two of the hardest industries in the world to build a career in. Visibility is part of it, but only part of it. What turns attention into bookings is judgement about fit, timing, and material, paired with a way of working that productions trust. Most of the hours we spend on your behalf live in that second part, and you will only ever see the result.

We are independent by choice and selective by design. We turn down more applications than we take on. A small, considered roster we can serve properly beats a large one we cannot, and the ratio is the whole point. Joining the MovieLux Media Group added reach (literary representation, international markets, the Crew Services Agency) without changing how we work with the people already on the roster. That was a condition of joining, not a consequence of it.

Part of MovieLux Media Group

One agency. Three divisions. One standard of care across all of them.

MAM is a division of MovieLux Entertainment Holdings Ltd, a UK-based group focused on screen-industry talent representation. Being part of the group puts more disciplines under one roof, and every division is run by specialists who know their side of the industry from the inside.

Active

Acting Talent

Representation for screen actors at every stage, from drama-school graduates with their first tape to established working actors with international credits. Built for film and television, in the UK and the markets they travel to.

Active

Literary Talent

Representation for screenwriters, directors, and producers in scripted film and television. Career strategy, project development, and packaging sit alongside the deal-making. You get a partner on the work, not a conduit for offers.

Active

Crew Services Agency

A dedicated agency for above-the-line and key heads of department. Cinematographers, production designers, editors, and senior screen craft. Built around how productions actually book crew, so the right names surface fast.

MAM is a trading division of MovieLux Entertainment Holdings Ltd, registered in England and Wales.

How we work

Representation is judgement.

Visibility gets you seen. Judgement, professionalism, and knowing how productions run is what gets you hired. The first part you can buy. The second part is what you are hiring us for.

01

It is a practice.

An agent’s job is judgement about fit, timing, materials, and direction, taken across a whole career. It is not routing traffic. It is not forwarding briefs. It is not mailing out headshots. The work behind a booking is the work that comes before it.

02

Informed by how work gets made.

How productions actually run decides what lands on a page, on a reel, and in a meeting. We stay close enough to that to give you notes you can use on Monday morning.

03

The long arc matters.

We work with people over years. Not just around the moments that make the news. The quiet stretches are where careers actually get built.

04

Close over broad.

Independent. Globally minded. Selective. A smaller roster is easier to serve properly than a big one. We would rather be the only agent you ever needed than one of many you cycled through.

A self-sort

Honest about fit.

We turn down more applications than we take on, and we would rather you saved yourself the write-up than received a polite no back from us. The two cards below are the cleanest way to decide whether a conversation with MAM is worth your time. Please read them.

Best for

You should be talking to us if…

  • You are a screen actor, screenwriter, director, or producer with material we can put in front of a casting director, executive, or buyer in the next twelve months.
  • You take the craft seriously. You have invested in training, reps, or a body of work, even if it is still early.
  • You want a working agent who reads scripts, gives notes, and engages with the strategy. Not a name on letterhead.
  • You are willing to be advised, including hearing the calls you did not want to hear.
  • You want UK representation, with international reach when the work asks for it.

Not the right fit

You should probably look elsewhere if…

  • Your main need is commercial, modelling, influencer, or social-content representation. A different agency will serve you better.
  • You want a high-volume mailing-list approach. Submit me to everything, fast.
  • You want sole credit and final say on every creative decision.
  • You have not yet trained, built tape, or written work you would put in front of a buyer. The Advice section is the right next step, and you are welcome back when you have.

The team

Four working screen professionals, not four managers with a phone.

Between them, the leadership carries one hundred and fifty plus credits, decades of producing, drama-school and method training, and current on-camera work. Every person here is still doing the thing they represent other people for. That is on purpose.

Owen A. Smith, Founding Partner
Founding Partner · Principal Agent · Cinematographer · Producer

Owen A. Smith

Fifteen-plus years in screen production with over 150 credits across feature film, television, documentary, commercials, and branded work.

Before the agency, Owen shot, produced, directed, and wrote across drama, documentary, sport, and commercial work. He came into the industry through Graphic Design at Epsom School of Art & Design (now University for the Creative Arts) and the London advertising studio Adam B Colour Services. On campaigns for Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi, and McCann Erickson. A Royal Air Force College Cranwell graduate with a Queen’s Commission, he served six years as a Flight Lieutenant in command of 70 personnel. That discipline, and a working cinematographer’s instinct for what reads on camera, shapes how he represents talent today.

Jane Jackson, Partner
Partner · Acting & Talent Agent · Actress · Producer

Jane Jackson

Seven years in film, six in representation. A performer’s view of how acting careers actually get built.

Trained as an actress on the Spotlight-accredited method acting course at the Brian Timoney Method Acting Studio in London. Jane came to representation through her own work on set. Which means every casting conversation, every self-tape note, and every long-arc career plan runs through someone who has stood on the other side of the camera.

Linzy Attenborough, Creative Partner
Creative Partner · Award-winning Producer & Filmmaker

Linzy Attenborough

Two decades producing across Bollywood features, British independent cinema, commercials, television, and music video.

Trained as an actor at UK drama schools before moving into production. Founded Thought Juice Films in 2005, beginning with corporate work and expanding into music videos, commercials, and television. Served as 1st AD on twelve features including On The Line and Exodus, managed the Disney · Star Wars · Lucasfilm UK toy advertising campaign, and was Production Manager on Chandu Champion. Producer on the micro-budget features Wolf Garden and The Alice Paradox. Her award-winning short films stream on Amazon Prime.

Paul Jeffery, Assistant Agent
Assistant Agent · Actor · Writer · Director (stage: Mark Paul Denham)

Paul Jeffery

A professional actor since thirteen. A working writer-director with multiple best-director, best-feature, and best-script wins.

East London, classically trained at Academy Drama School with screen acting under Director Mark Normandy, plus Technical Theatre at Hoxton Hall (sound, lighting, stage management). Continued at Raindance in directing, directing actors, and film & TV producing. Recent on-camera credits include El Cucuy, Pixi Dust, Voyeur, Escape, the lead in Caught In-Between, and Reza in the Sky Max pilot Football Fantasy.
